Emirates brings Premium Economy to Mauritius with upgraded Dubai flights
New cabin option adds more space, dining choices and dedicated airport services
DUBAI – Emirates is bringing its Premium Economy cabin to the Mauritius-Dubai route from September 1, giving travellers more choice when flying to Dubai and connecting onwards across the airline’s global network.
The upgraded cabin will be introduced on two of the three daily Emirates services between Mauritius and Dubai. The move will see both an Airbus A380 and a retrofitted Boeing 777 operate in three-class configurations on the route.
The new offering will give passengers travelling from Mauritius access to Emirates’ Premium Economy experience on selected services, combining additional space with enhanced onboard amenities and dedicated airport services. The airline has been progressively expanding the cabin across its network as part of its wider investment in the product and its markets.
Two aircraft
Premium Economy will be available on flights EK703 and EK704, operated by Emirates’ A380, as well as EK709 and EK710, operated by a retrofitted Boeing 777.
The A380 service will feature 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats. The Boeing 777 will offer 38 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats and 214 Economy Class seats.
The expanded cabin choices mean travellers can select between three classes on both aircraft, depending on their preferred level of comfort and travel requirements.
Emirates’ Premium Economy seats are 19.5 inches wide and provide additional legroom and recline. Each seat comes with a six-way adjustable headrest, footrest, in-seat charging points, a wood-finished side cocktail table and a 13.3-inch personal entertainment screen.
Dining experience
The cabin also features a dedicated dining proposition. Passengers receive a welcome drink served in fine glassware, while meals are prepared using seasonal ingredients and presented on Royal Doulton china. An extended selection of beverages is also available.
Travellers receive sustainable amenity kits, blankets and generously sized pillows designed specifically for Premium Economy. Priority boarding is included, while passengers departing from Dubai can use a dedicated Premium Economy check-in area at Dubai International Airport.
The introduction on the Mauritius route also expands the options available to passengers travelling beyond Dubai. Emirates said customers from Mauritius can access the Premium Economy experience on journeys to 70 destinations across Europe, Asia and the Americas, with selected flights to Bangkok and all six daily services to London Heathrow among the available connections.
Emirates has served Mauritius since 2002 and has continued to promote the island as a holiday destination to customers across its global network. The deployment of its latest-generation cabins on the route forms part of its ongoing investment in the Mauritian market and its travel and tourism sector.
